So, you’re getting ready to buy that new piece of hardware, but you’re not sure which Interrupt Request addresses are available (if any). No problem, to view which IRQ’s are in use in your system (and which ones are not), just follow these simple steps:
- Right-click on My Computer.
- Select Properties.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Select Computer (the first entry), then click Properties.
The Computer Properties window will appear, and it will show which IRQs are currently in use.
You can also see the current I/O, DMA and Memory usage of your hardware by selecting the appropriate button.
